Imagine you are on the phone with your superior who is about to go into the meeting with the vice-president of the company. She called you to find out the latest on a problem that was discussed last week, and if she can be quickly filled in. Ask yourself: what's my headline? why is it important? How do we know? Next steps? And details?

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Craft the tone, brevity and information transfer that you have in a normal conversation
  • Answer the five (5) main questions to keep your reader informed
  • Describe the steps in the informative style to present a good report
