I have broad interests in seismology in Polar regions, including active source seismology for imaging glacial and subglacial structures as well as natural source seismicity from flow of glaciers and ice sheets. In addition, I have interests in lithospheric imaging of Polar regions from regional and global seismicity. These measurements have direct implications on estimating climate change impacts on projected global sea level rise, which are issues of immediate societal concern. I have been involved with seismological and geodetic research my entire career, with emphasis on Polar and cryospheric research. I have benefited from the expertise and knowledge of PASSCAL and DMC staff and have made extensive use of the equipment pools to further my research. I have served on the UNAVCO board of directors (including a term as Chair) during a transition in their leadership. I hope to help IRIS in the upcoming merger with UNAVCO, as well as to maintain and extend IRIS’ leadership in Polar seismology. I am happy to help the community by listening to students, researchers, and staff and providing advice and guidance and as we move forward.
