Data Services Short Course

Sunday, December 11, 2022, 1:00pm CT
Chicago, Illinois

We are pleased to announce that IRIS and UNAVCO Data Services will jointly conduct a Short Course workshop, prior to the AGU 2022 conference, to be held at the Marriott Marquis Chicago Hotel on Sunday December 11th, 2022 from 1-5pm in the Culture Room located on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Coffee and snacks will be served during a short intermission.

The goal of the Short Course is to discuss and demonstrate tools for data discovery and retrieval that can help facilitate your continued, uninterrupted access to the wide range of geophysical datasets and derivative data products that are available. Topics that will be discussed include recent enhancements made to the Earth Model Collaboration project, Quality Assurance tools for verifying data quality, new tools for seismic metadata creation, novel approaches to data analysis using Jupyter notebooks, and brief demonstrations of leveraging web services to access data. Additionally, we will provide an update on the current status of migrating the full suite of services and products of our combined facilities into a cloud environment.

We highly encourage attendees to bring any questions regarding data discovery, access, and development of novel processing workflows to the Short Course. We are excited by the changes that we are making to our infrastructure and are eager to provide assistance to ease the transition to the new tools and products.

Please use the link below to sign-up in advance and we will follow up to confirm your attendance. The Short Course will be limited to 30 people.
