WORKSHOP: Managing Distributed Acoustic Sensing Data

Sunday, December 11th, 2022, 12–5pm CT
Chicago, Illinois

We would like to announce a late-breaking Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Research Coordination Network (RCN) workshop:

DATE: Sunday, December 11, 2022 (the day prior to AGU)
TIME: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm CT
LOCATION: Marriott Marquis, Chicago, Illinois

The goal of this half-day workshop is to discuss current practices, challenges and solutions for managing large DAS datasets. It is widely recognized that DAS datasets are some of the largest in geophysics, with more DAS data being collected every day. The workshop will provide a forum for DAS practitioners, data management facilities, and other interested parties to come together to explore ideas, strategies and approaches for managing these extremely large datasets. We encourage those who collect DAS datasets, those who archive and distribute these datasets, and those that use these datasets to share their experiences, requirements and solutions.

We are aiming for broad international participation, with a modest number of speakers and plenty of time for discussion.

Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees and we are hoping to support virtual participation too. You do not need to be registered for AGU to attend. Please sign-up in advance using this form. We will follow up to confirm your participation in this workshop.

With regards from the DAS RCN Co-PIs:
   Herb Wang
   Scott Tyler
   Bob Woodward
   Kasey Aderhold
