I got my B.S. in Geosciences from Penn State University, then went to UCSC for a M.S. and Ph.D, focusing on studying rupture processes of subduction zone earthquakes. Following my PhD work, I went on to University of Michigan for a postdoc, then to New Mexico Tech, where I've been since 2003. I'm currently an Associate Professor there, and have continued to work on subduction zone earthquakes as well as small earthquakes within New Mexico. At New Mexico Tech, I've taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Catastrophic Earth (at the 100 level), Solid Earth Geophysics (400 level), and various seismology and geodynamics courses at the graduate level.
