As of February 2015, Next Generation System (NGS) upgrades have been made to 141 of the 153 stations, which constitutes over 92% of active network. The map below represents those stations that have been upgraded and those that remain. Note that several of the stations were upgraded to the NGS utilizing funds outside core IRIS funding (coopertive upgrades with our hosts - yellow circles).
With the ARRA funding in 2009, the rollout rate for NGS upgrades was approximately 30 stations/year. The histogram below shows the time distribution of NGS rollouts.
