Congressman Jim McDermott of Washington hosts an Active Earth Display

Washington Congressman Jim McDermott, whose District includes Seattle, is host to an IRIS Active Earth Display. The kiosk is installed in his office suite in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, DC. The interactive display provides real-time seismology and other Earth science information to users via web pages. This particular kiosk is delivering the Cascadia content set that was developed in collaboration with EarthScope and UNAVCO and focuses on earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and plate tectonics in Washington and the Pacific Northwest. The kiosk will be on loan for a period of six to 12 months.
