IRIS Data Management Center Moves to New Office Location

On October 31, the Data Management Center (DMC), operated by IRIS as part of the National Science Foundation’s Seismological Facility for the Advancement of Geoscience (SAGE), held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new offices in the Northgate area of Seattle. The historic building that IRIS previously occupied for 28 years near the University of Washington, is being sold, necessitating the move. The new DMC offices are in an energy-efficient building located within easy walking distance of public transportation, hotels, restaurants and (naturally) coffee shops. In 2021, a new Northgate station will open on the Link Light Rail Line that will provide easy access to the DMC from SEA-TAC airport.
