Welcome to the New IRIS Website!

This new website represents a significant step for IRIS in our effort to better serve the seismology community, educators, and the public. Among the major goals of this project were to provide easier navigation, highlight several lesser-known IRIS activities and raise awareness of the many ways in which seismic data can be accessed. The project was started in October 2007 and involved representatives from all of the IRIS programs.

The website has been redesigned and upgraded to help you discover content more readily. We have restructured the website itself to take advantage of new web technologies and have added significant new content. We have made every effort to ensure that the new site is easy to navigate and that no information from the old site was lost. While some pages on the website have moved, much of the structure, especially at the lower levels, will remain familiar to frequent users.

Please take a little time to familiarize yourself with our website’s new look and structure. If you do not immediately find what you are looking for, please take advantage of the "search" capability.

We will continue to update and expand our website to add new content and features. We welcome your comments and suggestions for improvement and have provided a link at the bottom of each webpage for sending us feedback, complaints or kudos.
